In Chapter 1 of my soon-to-be published romance novel, Fear of Feeling Loved, Marcia is talking with her close confidant, Aunt Betty. Poignantly, her “favorite aunt” – her only aunt – goes right to the bottom line: “See, Marcia, if you fall in love with someone, you’re in control. No real fear associated with that… Your biggest fear is feeling loved. That’s when you’re most vulnerable. That’s when you can get hurt the most. That’s the biggest risk you take – allowing yourself to feel loved by someone else.”
I don’t know about you, but speaking for myself… been there, done that, wore that t-shirt. And I doubt that I’m the only member of that club…
Thanks, Bill
